Paper Crush

Lately, I've been on a bit of a paper kick. Cards, note paper, wrapping paper, you name it! My criteria? it has to be on (big) sale. I found this adorable site, www.smockpaper.com.

How much do I love this note cube! This cute Heron is printed on 100% recycled paper. The best part, all 700 pages are sticky. I LOVE sticky notes. Did I mention they are half price? $9.00, down from $18.00.

For some odd reason, I really like this Beetle one too.

Also, if you want to give a gift to someone that you like well enough to NOT use a recycled gift bag from your closet, spring for this one. At $4.25 it's really affordable. At $8.50, I would have to pass.

If you're like me, you write down everything you need to do, even if you'll never do it. These little 40 page blank notebooks are just the ticket. And, guess what? They are on sale, two books for $3.00!

Speaking of writing things down, I realize I've been M.I.A. for, like ever. I promise to do better. I hope the new year is treating you right. I will talk at ya later! Patience

Sephora + Pantone Universe, My New Favorite!

Last month I made a spur of the moment purchase at my local Sephora, which is not at all unusual. 

Sephora partnered with Pantone, the paint maker, to come up with some fabulous orangey colors.  I bought the Apricot Brandy Prisma Color Blush.  It is so perfect for summer and has a hint of shimmer.  It looks very bright in the container, but not when you wear it.  Perfect with a summer tan.  (Not that I am encouraging THAT, well, maybe.)

  I didn't get this set, but I wish I would have.

I did, however, get the best brush!

It is the fluffiest, softest brush ever!  I have been using it for bronzer or all over color. A New Fashion Obsession

I have a new clothing obsession, bow and tie-neck blouses.  It all started with Glee and the character, Emma Pillsbury.  She wears very lady-like classic clothing with a touch a touch of whimsy.  There are a ton of websites devoted to her looks, but here are some of my favorites.

Have you noticed that these are everywhere?  I haven't noticed this many feathers since going to my county fair in the 80's and seeing everyone (EVERYONE) wearing and buying roach clips with feathers dangling from the ends.  I think that was the one trend I skipped in high school. 

The ones above were found on Etsy and the seller, Mountain Man Creations, has a huge variety for very little money.

I really love the simplicity of the white ones above.  Not fussy, just perfect.  These were found on www.asos.com for only $10.76.

I love these enamel earrings from Lucky Brand.  I first spotted these at Macy's but I found them about $10.00 cheaper on EBay.

There are lots of inexpensive variations at Rue 21 and Charlotte Russe.  If you don't have one of their stores near you, you can find them on the web.

If you are crafty, you know how easy it is to make earrings.  I found a couple of sites that sell feathers in small amounts with tons of varieties and colors.  Peacock is fabulous!  Look for the feathers at www.troyhill.net for a great selection.

My New Sperry Topsiders!!

 

Yes, my new Sperry Topsiders are rain slicker yellow and Easter purple.  Two more reasons I can't wait for Spring.  I found one pair for less than $20 and the other right under $25.  I know some of you wouldn't want them for free, but they are usually upwards of $75.  They are sitting  in their boxes up in the attic waiting for the time when it's appropriate to wear patent leather.  So excited, it makes me want to wear them with madras plaid shorts.  But, I won't.  That's a little too preppy, even for me.  Have a good hump day, Patience!

I am a closet Bass fan, they remind me of High School.  I have penny loafers and tasseled loafers, but I don't have these.

 
I love that you don't have to tie your shoes.  I really want these.  I found them at www.stevenalan.com .  They were $79.00, but If I did a search for Bass Eldon Slide On I might find them cheaper.  Wait, I just did.  www.zappos.com  has them for $68.95 plus free shipping.

Clever!!  This is a glass container pretending to be a plastic zipper bag.  At $20.00, it's a reasonable gift for someone that's hard to buy for.  If you've never seen an Uncommon Goods catalog, you should call for one.  888-365-0056.  Or, you could just visit the website and browse through all of the cool mod things you didn't know you needed.

Don't I just wish.  First of all, I won't be dressing up tonight.  But, if I were I want this 3.1 phillip lim silk tuxedo shirt.  I love the gold piping and I could wear it year-round.
